What are violins made from?

Violins are made from wood. Hardwood is used for cheaper violins. Specific to maple, spruce, ebony, boxwood, willow and rosewood for expensive violins. The back, neck, ribs and scroll are made from Maple. The top, blocks and linings are made from Spruce. For the fingerboards,pegs, tailpieces and and end pin, Ebony is used, sometimes Boxwood is substituted for Ebony.
